The Big Sleep is kind of like a comedy since they removed nearly all the plot points that (mostly) made it make sense as a novel.

(Not an insult. I love the movie. The plot just has as much coherence as a Marx Brothers' movie and seems built around Bogart's charisma.)

I love The Big Sleep, and give it a huge rec for anyone who doesn’t really care about the mystery “””””making sense”””””” and really just want to vibe with a bunch of weirdos for a couple hours
